BIO
Born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, she began her musical studies with Maestro Francisco Guimarães in the "Banda de Música 12 de Março" a Wind Band in her hometown.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of São Paulo, where she studied under Prof. Luis Afonso Montanha. She earned a Master's degree in Performance from the Universität der Künste Berlin and another in Music Pedagogy from the Musik Akademie Basel, both with distinction under Prof. François Benda.
Awarded first place in the Brazilian clarinet competition Devon & Burgani and a gold medal with distinction in the First Vienna International Music Competition, she has extensive experience as a soloist, orchestral musician, chamber music performer, and educator.
Currently a clarinetist with the Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of the Brazilian Winds Ensemble, she was previously part of the São Paulo Youth Symphony Orchestra and is a guest musician with the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin and the Berliner Symphoniker. She has performed in some of Europe’s most renowned concert halls, such as the Berliner Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus Berlin.
She has performed as a soloist with the Orquestra Sinfônica do Theatro da Paz, Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre and the Orquestra Sinfônica Jovem do Estado de São Paulo. As a teacher and guest artist, she has appeared at the Campos do Jordão International Winter Festival, the Musicarium Institute Music Festival and the Carazinho Music Festival.
She can also be heard with the Brazilian Winds Ensemble, Ensemble Ilinx, Orpheus Ensemble Berlin, Zone experimentale Basel, Ensemble Polysono and Duo Caju. She is also currently a teacher at the Casa da Música in Porto Alegre, Escola da OSPA and the pedagogical coordinator of the Carazinho Music Festival.
Ariane currently plays on the Schwenk & Seggelke 1000+ model and is Clarinartis' representative in Brazil, playing with Alessandro Licostini mouthpieces.
